Here is our source of heat

Chad reading to the kids in the dark, I know, the flash makes it look as though it was light...but we only had two lanterns lit and a cool hat light for reading.

Me reading to the kids-Chad surprised me with this picture!
Not my loveliest moment!

We baked a couple of things in our stove, when it was cool enough to put a pan in. Chad put a rock in the back and we balanced the pan on a cookie sheet. That was all well and good until the rock got too hot and started popping. That was a little of an adventure trying to get the rock that was bursting out of the house without it bursting more and breaking something important.... the kids thought it was great fun, probably because they didn't realize how dangerous it really was....
Oh, the memories!

Ice Storm pics

It really was a beautiful site. Everything looked so clean and new, except, of course for the broken tree limbs......

The kids had a great time playing on the ice and what little snow fell after the ice.

A few from early in the year
